A woman has taken to Twitter to claim that she was told she could not board a flight because the airline staff said her outfit was “lewd, obscene and offensive” and she needed to cover up.
According to Kayla Eubanks, she was attempting to fly to Chicago in the US with Southwest Airlines on October 6 when she was stopped at the boarding gate for 30 minutes by a member of staff over her dressing.
Pictures posted by Ms Eubanks show she was sporting a a black halter low cut bralette and a long red split skirt.
In a series of clips on her Twitter, Kayla claims: “Y’all I was kicked off my Southwest Airlines flight because my boobs are ‘lewd, obscene and offensive’.
“I was told that passengers may look at me in my attire and be offended.”
Kayla said a captain offered her a T-shirt so she could board the plane – an offer which she accepted.
She also posted a selfie on the flight, wearing a blue T-shirt, but she admitted that she took it off mid-flight and returned it to the captain when it landed.
Kayla said she was met by two supervisors, who tried to explain to her the policy. And another clip shows her asking them: “Whatever they were showing me, it says ‘lewd, obscene and offensive’. Which is it?”
One of the supervisors says: “They could be all three.”
