ATLANTA (CelebrityAccess) — Cash Money Records founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams’ and Jeffrey “Young Thug” Williams, one of the label's recent signings, have been named, though not charged, in the indictment of a man accused of shooting at Lil Wayne's tour bus.
According to the Associated Press, the alleged shooter, Jimmy Winfrey, is an associate of Young Thug’s and is signed to Cash Money. The charging documents claim that Winfrey called a phone number owned by Young Thug immediately prior to the shooting and then another call to Birdman immediately afterwards.
Wayne is currently involved in a lawsuit to brought against Cash Money Records over the release of his most recent album Tha Carter V and has expressed a desire to leave the label.
Young Thug is facing other legal challenges as well, and was charged this week with making terroristic threats to a mall security guard and is facing drug and weapons charges after a police raid on his house. – Staff Writers
