LYNCHBURG, TN (CelebrityAccess) — Outlaw country singer Randy Howard was killed in a shootout with a bounty hunter at his home on June 9th.

According to Nashville’s WSMV, the 65-year-old Howard was facing charges related to fourth offense DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a gun while intoxicated and driving on a revoked license in Marion County, Tenn. Howard reportedly failed to post at a recent court appearance, prompting a bounty hunter working for A-Plus Bail Bonding of Dunlap, Tenn. to pay a call to Howard's home to serve a warrant.

Investigators said Howard opened fire on the bounty hunter and was killed when the bounty hunter fired back. The bounty hunter was also wounded in the exchange but is expected to recover.

Howard was part of the Outlaw Country movement, scoring several minor hits including "God Don't Live in Nashville, Tennessee," "She's a Lover," and "All-American Redneck." – Staff Writers
