June 2024 · 3 minute read

The Bachelor star Demi Burnett is clearly very excited about the upcoming Greta Gerwig Barbie movie, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Burnett, 28, shared a reel of herself dancing and singing to Nicki Minaj's Barbie World song, wearing a pink bikini and matching sunglasses with her blonde hair loose around her shoulders. "Music video shoot with me and the girls 💟 Directed, produced, edited, starred in, and filmed by me," she captioned the post. How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Burnett stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.

Burnett enjoys hiking in the beautiful outdoors. "Research has consistently demonstrated that exercise is as effective as a full dose of antihypertensive medication at lowering blood pressure," says sports medicine physician Matthew Kampert, DO, MS. "Every hike provides a unique opportunity to experience the sky above you, the ground beneath you and the peace within you."

Burnett loves playing tennis, which is a great way to stay fit and motivated. "It's been shown that people who play tennis regularly have lower rates of cardiovascular disease, such as hypertension and coronary artery disease," say the experts at Hospital for Special Surgery. "The average resting heart rate for adults is between 60 to 100 beats a minute, and for the most part a lower heart rate suggests that a person's heart is functioning more efficiently and that their overall cardiovascular fitness is better."

Burnett loves cooking and baking at home. "Baking is an opportunity to clear our heads and de-stress," says Pamela Honsberger, MD, a family doctor and director of physician engagement and leadership development at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, California. "When you focus your attention on an activity like baking, you're more present in the moment and less focused on stressors of the past or future."

Burnett stopped drinking alcohol completely, and says her life immediately improved. "I used to be drunk all day every day," she says. "I used to drink almost a bottle of Tito's a day. I honestly never thought I could do this. I never thought I would be able to not drink. This is wild man… Since my sobriety, I have EVOLVED and I'm so ready to be back in front of a camera."

Burnett is proud to be a role model for young people. "A lot of people told me that I helped them have the courage to come out," she says. "I've had people's parents come up to me in public and say, thank you, my child came out because of you, because you inspire them to be themselves and you help them know that it was okay. It's  overwhelming sometimes, in a good way. I don't even know what to say half the time. I'm so proud of everyone and  I'm proud of myself for being able to inspire people. It really meant  alot to me that I got to help other people."
