It’s taken awhile, as they were last seen during the London 2012 Olympics, which believe it or not were over 3 years ago, but Sweeties and Darlings the first official photo from the Absolutely Fabulous film has been released.

Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders are reprising the roles they made famous in the BBC comedy series which ran for almost two decades, which makes us feel so old!

Many of the original cast are also joining Lumley and Saunders. The likes of Julia Sawalha who plays Edina’s boring daughter Saffy, Jane Horrocks and June Whitfield.

“We are all there, the same old gang,” – Joanna Lumley commented about the cast.

“It’ll all be shot on location. It is going to be ravishingly funny! Very gorgeous… and completely fabulous!”

The film is said to see the pair still knocking back the champers like it’s going out of fashion, when they are blamed for a fashion show disaster so they flee to the French Riviera where they hope to live safely in the lap of luxury.

Saunders, who wrote the script, said: “I am thrilled and excited to finally start filming. We are all on the Sanatogen and hoping for the best.”

Rumoured cameos are said to include Kate Moss, 100 drag queens, a few Spice Girls and personal fav One Direction’s Harry Styles.
