Heatwave star Kat Graham had an incredible time at Comic Con Africa, in Cape Town. Graham, 34, shared a series of pictures from the trip, including stunning shots of her posing in the sand in a dark green bikini. "Thank you Cape Town!!!! Here are some pics from my trip to South Africa last week. I miss the people and the ocean view already, and I can't wait to come back in September for the next one! Thanks @comicconafrica for the invite ❤️🔥," she captioned the post. Graham works hard but never skips her daily running sessions—here's what else she does to protect her health, inside and out.
Graham starts every day playing with her dogs. "My day starts off with drinking a bottle of water—I'm always hydrating," she says. "I like to shower in the morning too using the Caress Forever collection—the fragrance in the body wash is touch-activated. So, I just touch my skin (like a rub on the wrist) throughout the day to reactivate the scent. The fragrance lasts for up to 12 hours, which is amazing for me since I'm running to a million appointments on any given day. I'm also really big on moisturizing. I like to put on my moisturizer and let it sit for a while before applying my makeup. [For breakfast I had]: A yogurt parfait. Usually I'm traveling between different time zones, so meal time always varies; but I [normally] like to start my day with a fruit smoothie and protein, usually eggs or a veggie omelet."
Graham uses argan oil on her hair. "For hair, I'm partial to argan oil–based products," she says. "For skin, I like Wet n Wild Photo Focus Setting Spray. It's made with aloe, so a spritz midday cools my skin down and helps avoid melting makeup. For fragrance, I find I'll spray perfume and the scent will be gone shortly after, so I like Caress Enchant Forever Body Wash because the fragrance in the body wash is touch-activated and lasts for up to 12 hours. For lips, my go-to staple is Carmex. Always."
Graham works out for mental and physical benefits. "As an actress, musician and dancer, my daily routine can be physically demanding, so it's essential that I eat right and work out to keep my energy up," she says. "I'm always looking for opportunities to get outside and I love to run, but I'm careful to switch up my routine so I stay motivated… Mark my words, it is a total understatement when I say I'm obsessed with taking bubble baths. It's the perfect way to unwind after a long day. It's the ultimate therapy for mind and body!"
Graham has a treadmill in two houses and one on set. "I run nothing less than about two miles a day," she says. "I have to do it in the morning. If I don't start my day with running, I let the day beat me up a little bit; if I get it done, I have a really clear head. I'm a working runner. Sometimes, after days of filming for 15 hours, I'm exhausted, and it's a struggle [to get up for a run]. But even if my schedule is erratic, I know if I stop working out, it will affect me mentally. I will become slow and sluggish, and I won't have the energy to take on the day like I need to."
Graham loves running outside. "We have the gorgeous, massive Piedmont Park in Atlanta. It's nice to get that fresh air," she says. "If you're on a treadmill, you're aware of how much time is going by. When you're outside, you just run and think about it later. The music I listen to when I'm running—Kanye, The Prodigy, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Britney—has the message to win and persevere. It's really empowering. I think you should always push yourself. The hardest you can push might be a half mile. The hardest you can push might be around the block. Regardless of the time, regardless of the miles, keep going!"
