Although some of you were trying to defend model Jessica Hart yesterday, it was pretty clear to me that Jessica was in fact shading Taylor Swift after Taylor performed at the Victoria’s Secret runway show last week. Jessica was asked some variation of “Do you think Taylor Swift would have made a good Victoria’s Secret model?” and Jessica said definitively that Swifty would NOT “fit” with the VS look. It was a bitchy and unnecessary shade for Swifty. A VS executive came out and spoke to Us Weekly, basically saying that Jessica never said that and even if she did, she didn’t mean it and by the way, Taylor Swift is a goddess on earth, etc. I can only imagine that the same executive got on the phone to Jessica Hart and told her she needed to call up every media outlet and correct herself:

Maybe this she could write a song about it? It seems the supposed feud between Taylor Swift and Victoria’s Secret model Jessica Hart was all a misunderstanding.

Hart spoke with Us Weekly exclusively about the surprising comments she made to WWD about Swift’s cameo on the runway at last week’s big Victoria’s Secret show: “I adore Taylor Swift, and I was so excited to be with her at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. What Taylor does on stage is nothing compared to what we do,” Hart tells Us. “I could never get up there and do what she does! She is a true rock star and she absolutely killed it the other night. Her song ‘Pieces’ was one of my favorite songs, and I own her first ever CD. I can’t imagine why I would have said anything bad about her.”

It all began when Hart told WWD that the Grammy winner wouldn’t make a good lingerie model and “didn’t fit” at the famed fashion show. “I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself,” Hart explained. “I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.”

Swift never responded, but the brand’s chief marketing officer, Edward Razek, told Us that the comments were misinterpreted.

“I can tell you that everyone at Victoria’s Secret was blown away by Taylor’s performance,” he said. “She could not be more beautiful or talented, that we felt extremely lucky to have her, and that she is welcome back to do the show anytime she wants.”

If you’re really looking for it, you can still find some subtle shade in Jessica’s new statement. “What Taylor does on stage is nothing compared to what we do…” Meaning, “make no mistake, she is NOT a model and no one would ever mistake her for one because she doesn’t FIT.” Or maybe I’m just looking for controversy. Anyway, I hope that Swifty ignored this crap, but you never know with her – she’s probably writing a song right now called “The Cruelest Hart”. Or “Heart to Hart”. Or “The Bitch Named Hart”.
