"I am not a gym person. I need to do stuff I can keep up for the rest of my life," Lisa told The Irish News. "I've done yoga for the past nearly 20 years and I absolutely love it. I do mainly hatha yoga." She also likes the meditative aspect of the workout. "It does more for my head than it does for my body. It isn't too bad for my body either, so it's good all round."
"I walk my dog wherever I can," Lisa told Irish News. "I try and walk every day, even if it's just 25 minutes or half an hour of walking." If she doesn't go outside she will walk on the treadmill. "I've got a running machine in my shed that I don't use for running, I literally walk up hills on it and hold hand weights," she added. "I feel set up for the day when I've got myself moving in the morning." Going for a daily walk can be a game changer in terms of exercise, especially at a brisk speed. One study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that walking at a brisk pace for about 30 minutes a day led to a reduced risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia and death, compared with walking a similar number of steps but at a slower pace.
Lisa maintains a healthy diet. However, she admits that she is genetically blessed. "I've always had a very fast metabolism, so I've always been very lucky in the fact that I'm quite thin," she told Irish News.
"You get to an age where you think, 'I don't want be super-fit, I don't want to be super-ripped, I just want to have a healthy, happy body that works really well, that I can still wear a bikini'," Lisa told Irish News. "It's not about being over the top, I just want to keep fit and healthy and look after myself."
Lisa takes Calm capsules, "which contain L-Theanine, an amino acid that helps boost cognitive function and lower anxiety," she told Top Sante. "They're really good if you're not sleeping. I don't suffer from insomnia. It's more that my head gets really busy and I lie there awake. If I don't get six-to-eight hours of sleep, I'm rubbish, so before bed, I try to wind down by reading a book."
"I'm terrified of Botox," Lisa confessed to Top Sante. "I have no judgement of anybody who has it but I'm a bit scared of changing my face. The most I've ever had is radio frequency microneedling, which was a bit like a CACI facial. The truth is, I like my face as it is, and I don't know if I want to change it. You might ask me about Botox in five years' time and I might say, "Yeah, I have a little bit", but [right now], I'm not ready and I'm quite happy with my wrinkles."
